Growth happens at the edge of what’s familiar.

I'll guide you into a more joyful, purposeful life that's in line with your values, enriched by the wisdom of your body, and spacious enough for you to show up fully, offering your unique gifts to your community in this time of global change.

Somatic Coaching

WHO: Anyone who's curious about listening more deeply to their body.

HOW IT HELPS:  Our bodies hold memory, emotion, patterning from early childhood, and serious wisdom. Most of us raised in the dominant culture have been taught to ignore the language of the soma, or body. But it's possible to re-establish a relationship with it and to live in a way that’s guided by this wisdom - if we can slow down enough to listen. This is radical; this is active co-liberation.

PROCESS: Using mindful self-inquiry based on the Hakomi method, we’ll explore the language of your body and access your innate capacity for healing. Depending on your needs, we might weave in somatic practices into a talk-based coaching session, or we might spend the whole time working in this way – deeply, slowly – listening to the body’s cues and letting it lead. As we work, you’ll have experiences of finding truth in your body. From this place, we gain a clarity of vision that we’ll put into practice, toward what the Buddha calls “right action.”

Creative Coaching

WHO: Maybe you have an existing creative practice; maybe you used to, but dropped it in favor of more “important” things; or maybe you just want to explore that part of yourself. Everyone is welcome.

HOW IT HELPS: Creativity isn’t just about aesthetics, nor is it just about finishing a product. Creative practice – particularly one that’s consistent – can be a doorway into the deepest, truest parts of yourself. By awakening the neural circuitry connected with play, imagination and emotion, we create opportunities to step out of our habitual ways of thinking and behaving to make deep, lasting shifts.

PROCESS: Together, we devise ways to weave creative exploration into your take-home practices between sessions, whether it’s with a medium you already know well, something totally new, or both. It might look like incorporating writing, voice, movement, or music.

Narrative Coaching

WHO: Anyone with a story to tell. I help storytellers of all kinds craft powerful narratives for inspired leadership, movement-building, and personal transformation.

*If you’re preparing for public speaking, performances, and presentations, I also offer limited-engagement sessions to help you prepare.

HOW IT HELPS: For most of us, public speaking is at least a little scary. I'll help you craft powerful, true narratives from the seed of an idea to the stage - ensuring that your story is resonant and compelling.

I also do narrative and performance coaching through The Nocturnists, a medical storytelling podcast and live show. Learn more about our work here.

PROCESS: For those working towards a specific project, we'll dig into what your story is, why it matters and how to use your presence and voice onstage.

For my regular coaching clients, I often use narrative as a way into understanding who you are and where you're going by articulating the narrative arc of your life.

How It Works:

  1. Initial 30-minute consultation to see if we’re a fit.

  2. Mapping session (60-90 min): An in-depth exploration of your goals, vision, and what holds you back. Together, we’ll hone in on a clear focus for the duration of our work.

  3. Coaching sessions (50 min): The good stuff. Between 6-12 one-on-one meetings by phone or video, depending on your area of focus. A session might blend somatic (body-based) awareness, creative exploration, or mindfulness, depending on what’s right for you.

  4. Completion and integration session (50 min): Integrating what’s been learned, planning structures of support to keep you growing – and celebrating you!

What People Are Saying

“As someone who has spent years in talk therapy, worked with everyone from career counselors to reiki masters, and tried somatic psychotherapies like EMDR, I can confidently say that coaching with Kristin has been the best experience out of all of them. Kristin is so alive, present, intuitive, and curious through every session. She helps you come to new intellectual, emotional, and somatic understandings, and—most refreshing to me—she helps you ground those understandings in day-to-day actions so that you can truly make the changes you want to make. Working with Kristin has been life-changing.”

— Erin

“I had no idea what to expect entering into a coaching session with Kristin, besides I felt unsure about how to connect with joy and play amidst the chaos. Our call blew me away – Kristin gently and firmly guided me to find answers within. I left the session with very powerful insights of what joy and play mean to me, and how I can incorporate them more fully into my life. Kristin’s presence and questions felt like warm, bright light in the long winter, and I can’t be more appreciative.”

I'm a transformational coach myself. So I intimately know the terrain of the practice, and have grown exceedingly picky with whom I let myself be coached by, because I can see through both my own shit and the practitioner's shtick too easily.

But check it out: Kristin left my preconceived expectations in a sopping mess by the corner, and then we wrung them out to dry together. Because over the course of our first session container, through whatever unique brand of alchemy she's clearly cultivated, my whole inner landscape was shifted. I had a new sense of where I was headed; I had discrete chunks to work with on my way; I got taken to some vulnerable places in me that her lesser competitors both would have missed and not known how to hold me in; and I emerged from my chrysalis, confidently moving in a new trajectory.

Did I mention how utterly fucking delightful she is? Stop reading this and book with her right now already.

"I sought Kristin's expertise during a career sabbatical in which I was feeling self-doubt and a lack of direction. She expertly guided our conversations in ways that shed a ton of light on my journey. Through our sessions and exercises, she helped surface past joys that had been tamped down as well as identify recurring themes and important junctures that have shaped who I am and how I might best move forward. Her warm demeanor and attentiveness makes conversation easy – our sessions always seemed to end too quickly!”

Kristin is an amazing listener, and works with me at a deep level. She helps me understand how my own creative mind works, so that we can discover how to unlock my potential in a way that feels easy and natural. She is careful to balance feedback about the work itself with feedback about my process, and adjusts this based on my needs. She is a kind and non-judgmental presence, so I feel safe letting out all my weird creative angst, to which she responds with empathy and a sense of humor. Often she will follow up our sessions with awesome writing prompts and exercises, to help me get unblocked. Such a wonderful partnership.
